Over the course of time
Kayden Reignes originally from Biloxi, Mississippi began to write short stories and poems to help shroud the boredom of life growing up in the country.  It wasn’t until the fall of 1999 however, after an involvement in a fatal automobile accident that Kayden began mixing words with melody.  As art often imitates life his first completed song “Last Day” a painful account of tragedy and self-healing emerged with the help of composer Jody Calhoun.  Songwriting at that point became more than just words, more than just a recollection. It became an outlet, an outlet that he would tap into for the next six years while writing and performing with an original rock band.  Throughout his role as singer/songwriter for the group he would enjoy the success that accompanies over two hundred performances, several at some of the nations finest venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Invesco Field at Mile High, South Park Music Festival as well as performances in Utah, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

While on a break from performing with his group in the summer of 2006 Kayden began work on a side project, one that would allow him the freedom to explore a simpler side of storytelling.  With boxes and boxes full of lyrics scribbled on napkins, notebooks, and even the occasional cigarette pack at his disposal he completed his debut solo EP in early 2008.  Again art imitates life with the track “Worlds Apart” (a fragile look into the hearts and minds of families of soldiers) written for his brother who serves in the U.S. Army.

With a sound that’s been compared to a blending of Americana, Pop, Acoustic and a dash of Country, Kayden’s stories embrace the frustrations of betrayal, the loneliness within heartache and the strength within friendship.  Like a page torn from life’s very book every word rings true and the beautiful thing is we’ve all been there.
